Photo Gallery

Here you will find photos of various Lakes Modifieds. They may be some that we built, some I’ve found on the internet, or photos that you send us. This will be a forum to let people see different interpretations of our Lakes Modifieds and hopefully give you some ideas on how you would like to build yours.

Also, I would like to give credit where it is due, so if you know any other information about any of these cars please let me know and I will add it with the photos. Click on the photos for larger pictures and check back often as I will be adding photos on a regular basis.

Our new Zipper Motors shop /show car
Here are a few photos of the new coupe we have been building for our shop / show car. This vehicle will be used to show the different items we have to offer. It will always be available at our shop for you to come and test fit, check out the new interior package components, etc. I will keep adding photos as we get it more complete.

Just a few specs: Coupe body with the ’33 style hood w/ stainless grill from Dan Fink. 350 Chevy engine, 4L80E transmission w/ B&M Pro Stick shifter. Solid axle quick change w/ 3.75:1 gears (for now), drilled I-beam axle, Stewart Warner gauges and Salt Flat Special wheels. Paint is a single stage satin charcoal metalic. The frame, gas tank, springs and headlight buckets are gloss black powder coat. Nearly all aluminum parts have been bead blasted and black anodized to also give a satin look. We plan to keep the interior minimal, only painting the interior package pieces so they can be seen and also give an idea what can be done on a minimal budget.

New roadster and coupe
Built by myself when I started Beehive Hot Rods. Completed in 2006. Both cars were sold together in 2007 and now reside in Pensylvania.

Lakes Modified at Bonneville
This Lakes Modified belongs to our friend John from Grand Junction, Colorado. He drives this car everywhere. I took these photos at the World of Speed at Bonneville last year where he was using it as the push vehicle for Zippers Streamliner.

Barrett Jackson 2008
This fine Lakes Modified was sold at the 2008 Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale.

Mark & Terry Lowderman’s Zipper
Here are some photos of the Lakes Modified that Mark Lowderman of Colorado Springs, Colorado built with the help of his friend Mike Farmer.

New Jersey modified
Bruce Hardy sent in these photos of his New Lakes Modified roadster. He is from Hewitt, New Jersey. It has a Ford powerplant, cool wire wheels and trick looking headlights and tail lights. He also utilized our interior package. Nice job!
